University Holds ‘Blessing’ and ‘Topping Out’ Ceremony for New Center for Rehabilitation Education

The University held a “blessing of the beam” and “topping out” ceremony for its new eight-story center for rehabilitation education, which, at 140 feet, will be the tallest building on the University’s campus. The center will house the departments of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Exercise Science. At the ceremony, University of Scranton President Kevin P. Quinn, S.J., blessed the steel beam that will be mounted at the highest point of the $47.5 million, state-of-the-art facility. He then signed the beam along with University administrators, faculty and staff. From left are: James Devers, assistant vice president for facilities and operation; Donald R.
